Who is Sylvia Day

Sylvia Day is a Japanese American writer who is most famous for the beloved Crossfire series. But she has dipped her toes into other tropes within the erotica genre.

How Sylvia Day Became an Author

Ms. Day started to write her first novel in the fall of 2003 and finished it within a month. In June 2004 contemporary romance author Jodi Foster held a contest. She read the writing entries and sent the finalist entries to her editor. Ms. Day became a finalist and the editor acquired her book in the end.

What Was Day's Easiest Book To Write?

Within a question board, I did find interesting answers Sylvia Day gave to fans. "The Stranger I Married", was published in 2006 and is 320 pages. Day stated this was the easiest book to write, continuing by saying she wrote it in a matter of weeks. "One with You" is the last book in the crossfire series, it was also the hardest and longest book for Sylvia Day to write.

Is Sylvia Day Embarrassed After She Writes Sex Scenes?

I have often wondered if erotic authors became embarrassed when writing spicy scenes. Day wrote she is not embarrassed when writing them but can blush when rereading them.

What Inspired Sylvia Day to Write The Crossfire Series?

What is "Seven Years To Sin"?

Day has another book called "Seven Years To Sin", in this book, there are two abuse survivors, but in different circumstances than in Bared to You or the Crossfire Series. In this book, Jessica is a survivor of child abuse where she carries physical scars; while Alister was emotionally abused and saw Prostitution as his way out.

"Seven Years Sin" Quick Synopsis

The book is about Jessica who can't stop thinking about Alister, after seeing him in the middle of a sensual act. Just the same Alister cannot stop thinking about Jessica but she was married the day after she saw him. But seven years later she is a passenger on one of his ships.

Will There Be Another Crossfire Book?

Another Book Is a Possibility

Sylvia Day wrote at the end of "One with You", that it would be the last novel in the series. But in a post on Goodreads Day wrote that she might write another book. The characters are sharing things with her that she wants to share with her readers. But she is in the middle of writing the "So Close Series".

Cameos

If you are itching for more Gideon and Eva in the meantime Day wrote in a post on Goodnotes: Gideon and Eva make cameos in other books she has written since. These are common in our dynamic duo:

- Gideon has a mentioned cameo in "Blood and Roses"

-Eva has a cameo in "Butterfly in Frost"

- There is a cameo of both Gideon and Eva in "So Close" (which comes out March 28, 2023, and is 1 of 2 books)

Will The Crossfire Series become a TV Series or a Movie?

First Attempts at Television

Well in 2013 the rights to the Crossfire series were contracted to the Lionsgate studio for the development of a TV show. If you remember Lionsgate is the studio to bring us Twilight, Hunger Games, and Divergent. These franchises were geared toward teens and young adults. The TV show was in development for three years before the rights were given back to Day.

Second Attempt

There was hope once again when the series and "Butterfly in Frost" were picked up by another studio. It did not mention on Sylvia Day's website which studio picked up the beloved series and novel. But after two years in development, the option expired and the rights to the storylines went back to the mind behind them.

Why Do The Rights of Crossfire Keep Reverting Back to Sylvia Day?

Sylvia Day has written on Goodreads that one of the problems they have faced is finding a screenwriter who can bring these books to life in the best possible way. Another issue or the biggest issue she came across was finding a studio. Studios and producers have wanted to turn the story into something different. She also mentioned that screenwriters wanted to change the characteristics of Gideon and Eva, like their names.

Is There a Third Attempt For Crossfire Series To Become Live Action?

Day answered another question on Goodreads asking if there was another chance the series could come to life. Day wrote the series is under development for the third time. This was three months ago.
